Africans Aspire Program
As most schools in Melton have a large and growing African student population, there is a unique opportunity for the AYI to work in partnership with various schools in the region and achieve shared aspirations of empowering these young people. Thus, we propose a custom program to be run over a term specialised to enage the students of the school in learning new skills, expressing themselves and contributing to larger movement and change that will hopefully bring about change in their community.
First, we suggest delivering sessions for Year 10 students as a trial, with potential expansion for other year levels to be discussed if the school would need a larger group of students to be reached. As a collaborative initiative, this program is flexible and will address specific issues or topics concerning young people highlighted by the school.
Regarding the structure of the AYI’s Africans Aspire Program, we offer two options. Option A will consist of one session per week, scheduled during school hours if there is a free session in the timetable. Option B will consist of one session per week, scheduled on-campus after school that students may attend.
If you are a school interested in partnering with A.Y.I and becoming a part of the change, please do not hesitate to contact us.
